This is a replication of an early Wilderness Trail Bikes product that allowed Suntour thumbshifters to be mounted inboard of brake levers on drop handlebars. The addition of spacers moves the shifters away from the handlebar, allowing a better grip. A prototype version of this component can be seen on Cunningham Indian #CBC.
