1980 Breezer Series II, #13

This 1980 Breezer Series II is owned by Scot Nicol, the founder of Ibis Cycles. Scot spent years riding 'paper boy' bikes in his youth and by 1976 had modified a 1947 Schwinn Excelsior to have gears and cantilever brakes. Scot attended the 1980 Pearl Pass Tour in Crested Butte, CO on one of his "clunker bike" creations.  Scot would eventually go on to apprentice with Joe Breeze and Charlie Cunningham and learn the finer points of bicycle frame construction.  During that time, Scot ended up with this Breezer, and soon after was inspired to build his own frames starting in Mendocino, CA.  This bike now resides at the Ibis bicycle museum at their current headquarters in Santa Cruz, CA.

More information can be found on the Breezer Photo Archive page.
