1975 Albert Eisentraut

Albert Eisentraut is often referred to as the godfather of American custom frame building, having apprenticed in Europe were he learned the craft and then brought those skills with him to the United States.  Setting up shop in Oakland, CA, Albert would operate a frame building school and a traveling workshop that would teach many aspiring frame builders.  The frame shop was run in turn by notable builders Mark Nobilette and Bruce Gordon.  Of particular interest to the Workshop was a student by the name of Joe Breeze, who would go on to meticulously build a handful of road frames but more importantly build the first purpose built mountain bikes eventually known as Breezers.  According to Mark, this A-model frame was likely built by Bruce based on some signature finishing details.
